Things have started to fall in place for me. Finally, I'd say, since I really took a very long time to adapt to the people, the surroundings and everything. Not the most wanted place for me to be at but I guess, this is just one of the changes one has to go through sooner or later. Unfortunate or fortunate for me, it had to come earlier at somewhere I'd least expected to be at but well, life goes on, yes? Of course, and life has been all right for me till this point of time!
I realise that friends or rather in general, company plays a very important role when one is at a whole new place. I am not being prejudiced or discriminative, nothing of that sort, but there are definitely certain people whom you'd prefer hanging out with as compared to the rest. I hung out with the least competable people for a week and life was hell! I felt like life was ever-so-screwed up and dreaded everything except for staying home. However, the following week was much much better as I got to know more 'humane' people whom I can actually speak with. Sounds silly but that is a hardcore truth!
One great example of hanging out with the correct people. With no offence, I really did not expect myself to hang out with them at all but anyway, it has been fun for these two days since speaking with them. A fun and crazy bunch which makes school more pleasant for me.
Lecture on Principles of Management this morning.
I was sitting beside Kevin and Lu Fang was beside him. Fun started when I realised this geeky-looking person who was sitting in front of us had his lecture notes at the wrong page.
Me: Aye (Kevin), he (the geek) has his page at the wrong page..
Kevin: Orh. (Then he pats the geek and) Aye, you are at the wrong page..
Geek: Okay, thank you.
Everything went well and lecture was as per normal. As boring as usual, to be more exact. Just then, Kevin decided to make friends with the geek!
Kevin: Aye, what's your name? (to the geek)
Geek: You can address me as John.
Wow, what a great way of introducing himself!
Next, as the geek (don't really want to address him as John as JT is also John!) was in a LimpBizket t-shirt, which looks darn fake by the way, another conversation emerged.
Kevin: Oh, so you like LimpBizket?
Geek: Yeah, I am a fan of the band!
Damn, another classic apart from the way of introduction!
Kevin started asking the geek on relationship questions. You know, those typical 'do you have a girlfriend?' and all.
Kevin: Do you have a girlfriend? .. Or a boyfriend? -erupts in laughter-
Geek: -ignores & frowns-
Kevin: -still laughing- Aye aye, I have a boyfriend, you know! He is not here but you want me to intro him to you later, after lecture?
Geek: -looks afraid- No no, no no..
Kevin: Huh, why? Oh, and you know why my hair is so short? Cause my mother was angry with me that day so she chopped it off then my this (adam's apple) is not real one, it's a fishball stuck in my throat..
Me: Then why are you not dead yet?
Kevin: Dying soon, dying soon..
Geek: I'm sorry but stop asking me relationship questions.. What girlfriend, boyfriend things..
After a couple of minutes as lecture was ever-so-boring other than the out of tune BaLEStier by the lecturer, Kevin decided to continue with the conversation with the geek.
Kevin: Aye so means you don't like girls lah? Or you like boys? -erupts into another laughter-
Geek: I didn't say that! (His tone was the bomb, so serious!)
-Kevin, Lu Fang, Cheryl and I burst into massive laughter-
Lu Fang: Aye, don't put words into his mouth lah..
Me: -continues laughing-
Frigging funny, nice reactions and facial expressions by that geek!
After lecture ended, the geek had something important to tell Kevin. How important? Read on.
Geek: -pulls Kevin to a corner- Hey, I'm sorry to say that it's not very nice of you to keep asking others about relationships. Once is okay, twice is too much.. -shows an angry face-
Lunch time, in between lecture on POM and lecture on Retail Accounting.
Kevin and I happened to spot Mr Geek walking alone so we kindly asked him to join us and the majority of the class for lunch. How nice of us, yes? So friendly and trying to help him make friends.
Kevin: Aye John, why don't you talk to the girls over there? ('girls' refers to the girls in our class / Geek is from another class)
Geek: I don't know them and I don't know what to say.. It's okay, it's okay..
Kevin: Aye never mind one, they are very friendly, don't be shy..
As we were seated on the floor, it's so obvious that the geek was inching his butt towards the girls. Moreover, he even moved his bag along with him as his butt get closer. Somehow, he managed to fit into the circle. While the girls were having their usual conversation, he stared blankly at them. Without knowing what's going on, the girls merely stared at him in disgust and in query. Finally, after about five minutes, he started a conversation with one of them. Not bad, we helped him make a friend! HAHAHAHAHA.
Lecture on Retail Accounting next.
Kevin and I wanted to sit somewhere near Mr Geek or something. I mean, he's such an entertainment and that would totally help time pass faster. Anyway, he declined and said..
Geek: (to Kevin) I'm very sorry to tell you this but you are really annoying.. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I don't mean to say that but.. (I didn't catch what he said)
Oh, as if we cared if he sat close to us! His reason for not wanting to sit with us was he has someone to sit with. But oh my, he was lying! He has no one beside him except for his bag! Loser.
Yeah, that's all for today!
Funny, yes?
Or at least, I found it funny!
So now, lectures have become something quite interesting to look forward to. With corny beings around, life has improved. Oh my, I really make myself sound so sad previously but that's true! Furthermore, there is someone whom I can look out for, which makes life even better. (:
Till then.
